Crane, Brevet Major, Chief Commissary of Subsistence Fourth Military District, Vicksburg, MS. Ira McL. Barton (b. 11 March 1840, Newport, NH; d. 19 Jan 1876, Newport, NH). In Sep-tember 1866, Barton was transferred to the 28 th Infantry Regiment and served under the chief quartermaster of the Fourth Military District stationed at Pine Bluff, AR following the Civil War.
